What are porcelain veneers?

A porcelain veneer is a restoration designed to alter the aesthetics of one’s teeth. It is an extremely thin porcelain restoration that bonds to the front of your tooth. Veneers are used to change the shape, color, size, and symmetry of your teeth and smile. The process of creating veneers that fit one’s smile is very involved. Each patient will be examined carefully to produce a predictable result, both aesthetically and functionally.

Your initial consult is an extremely important visit for your smile makeover. Before we design your new smile, it’s extremely important for us to have a genuine open dialogue discussing your goals and vision for your new smile. Once we establish your goals, we can then proceed to examining the health of your teeth with a comprehensive exam including x-rays to address and treat any active disease. We then take a series of intra-oral and extra-oral photos as well as an iTero digital scan of your teeth to better communicate our vision with the lab. These tools help to ensure that we design your restorations in a way that flows seamlessly with your lips and your facial structure. The goal is to enhance your smile and restore vitality. The iTero digital scan will produce a 3d printed model which will be used to create a template for your new smile. This is achieved with the help of our state of the art dental lab and world class ceramists. Once we complete the smile design, we will arrange a consult to show you what is possible before even touching your teeth!

How can we improve aesthetics other than veneers?

Bonding is most commonly used to repair small fractures of your front teeth. The procedure is extremely technique sensitive and requires great attention to detail to restore proper aesthetics. When done correctly, bonding is an excellent option to repair small tooth fractures. Larger fractures may require more extensive treatment, such as a crown or a veneer. If you have chipped your tooth, come visit us as soon as possible to prevent the fracture from progressing.

I notice my teeth have been getting discolored, how can we fix this?

Bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a procedure intended to brighten or “whiten” one’s teeth. We offer two options to help enhance the color of your teeth – chairside bleaching and take home bleaching.

What is the difference between chairside and take home bleaching?

Chairside bleaching is completed in the office. We utilize the strongest bleaching gel available to transform the shade of your teeth. When you leave the office your teeth will have reached an optimal shade. Take home bleaching on the other hand is a process that is achieved at home. We fabricate custom fitted trays and provide you with lower strength bleaching gel that is safe to use without the supervision of a dental professional. You  are instructed to bleach once daily until desired whiteness is achieved. Please inquire as to which tooth whitening option may be best for you.
